back to reality - yesterday derek and andy were going to an art exhibit so i went to join them. but when i got there it turned out it was cancelled, so we went to get our kids in the hall tickets!!! yay! so tonight me, derek and scott b are gonna go see them at the wiltern, orchestra pit tickets!!!
after the tickets, we went to ralph's to get tomatos for the 'special' pizza derek was cooking up for us. we didn't know it would be special at the time though. we also got vanilla coke (mmm they sell it that way now! great to mix w/ rum!), 151+khalua+irishcreme to make cookie monsters, and we headed on our merry way.
meanwhile we listened to andy's cd in the car. very experimental music. i liked most of it. on the way back we stopped by this mexican place called bendilas or something, the place that has a mariscos truck that drives around the usc area. they also have an ice cream shop, all on western. derek got some yummy lookin tacos and andy and i shared these delicious nachos. so delicious that two random guys came up and asked for some. weeeeird.
we went back, met up w/ big red dave, and had cookie monsters. then we went to the caribbean to visit some people's having a bbq and acquire all that makes a pizza special. then back to make the pizza and watch a documentary, and after like 4 cookie monsters i passed out. then i had two pieces of pizza and 3 more monsters. and we threw the fish around. whoa. then we were ready to see dune so i put a little 151 in my vanilla coke and we went to the nuart!
somehow dave got all 8 of us in for free! yay. i fell asleep during part of the movie. the pizza was really kicking in and i was thoroughly amused and just wanted to chill. we had popcorn too mmm. andy ate most of it while i was asleep i think.
dave and i were dropped off at derek's before anyone else came back so i went back to sleep. and i woke up today at like 3pm on his couch. so my day is off to a late start. but i got me some tool tickets for bakersfield (pit!) most likely, if my bid went through properly. i may have one extra. so i'll let you know : )

argh this week should be cool but little sucky things keep happening. sucky sucky sucky. some really cool stuff happened though.
i think i ate something very wrong the other night. and last night i felt ok again but this morning it kinda was back to punish me. weeeird. anyhow i had to skipout on work cuz i was afraid i'd be running to the bathroom all day.
instead i slept in an hour, then cleaned my room and did laundry. i watched some tv, like people's court, days of our lives, and a bunch of dating shows while i was chatting online. one was rendeview. i hate these shows, but it was actually pretty funny cuz the guy was such an unbelievable asshole. it's like a panel of celebrities that comment on a blind date and sometimes they are amusing. i didn't eat anything all day, so when traffic died down i went to meet derek and dan to go to in-n-out. we watched some monty python meaning of life before we left, woop woop. i love that derek loves in-n-out, cuz that gives me excuses to go.
then we hung out at the nuart eating free popcorn, and at cinefile, the video store on that corner. dave let us watch part of lagaan but it was already half over so i didn't watch much. but it seemed pretty cool and i've heard nothing but good reviews (bolly-wood!!). everyone was really nice at cinefile and there were soo many videos you can't find anywhere else (ie. garbage pail kids). we went to hear andy spin - very nice. dan and i also made a trip to the 7-11 to drink beer/wine coolers out of paper sacks. it was fun. right there on santa monica. but i wasn't getting drunk, i just thought it would be fun. the 7-11 dude was really nice and friendly, and later on when dan went in w/ vera he scolded dan for having TWO women in one night, like he was playing us. hahahaha....
we went back to derek's to watch his rentals.
- a japanese flick from 1958, called giants and toys. candy and capitalism. for some reason i kept thinking it was called monsters and candy. it really didn't seem like a 1958 movie, maybe partly cuz the subtitle translation seemed pretty recent. but also because of the style of filming and the music. very mod. and hilarious. i recommend. the opening title scene was worth the rental!
- forbidden zone - richard and danny elfman's 1980 film. the weirdest part is seeing louis' mom, marie, play the lead female roll. and seeing danny play satan. well the whole movie was weird, very strange and amusing but... yeah very strange. the king was played by tattoo from fantasy island. did you know he shot himself nearly ten years ago?
- we watched a set of oskar fischinger animation shorts. my favorite was from 1929, and it was made from two silhouette characters that kept morphing into different characters and shapes, like a constant stream of thoughts. this has to be where disney got his idea for fantasia, because he had even made a short using 'the soreceror's apprentice'.
- do not rent the french film yamakasi. the action scenes were kinda cool, a lot of flipping and jumping and climbing buildings. but the movie was just bad. the screenplay was written by luc besson, the guy who wrote and directed the professional, and the fifth element (when he was fourteen according to derek!). WHAT WAS HE THINKING. i really liked the professional, but we didn't even finishing watching this movie.
as usual my narcolepsy was setting in through the movies, even though i had slept in that morning. dave a. and his girl came over but i slept through that i think. the sun was up when i left, and derek and andy were still up. animals!
today was my radiology appointment at usc hospital. they want me to go back in six months to see if my cyst is gone. appearantly they found it this time, and it was rather large. i am not sure what this means. i am sure it's not too bad, cuz it is just one. some people have clusters of them. i am gonna have to start birth control, which means i am going to get fat. i just know it. at least it will end a lot of the pain i have been enduring. it SHOULD be worth it. i hope.

after my last nap on tuesday, i took a 3.5 hour nap! then i went over to derek's cuz my dad and his girlfriend came home and i didn't want to be around them. my dad is still giving me the silent treatment. very unsettling.
after this medieval special on the crown jewels w/ psychadelic music, we watched the eyes of tammy faye at derek's. it was actually pretty cool, a documentary on the life of a televangelist. i always just thought she was a jesus freak w/ a lot of make up. i was right, but there is more to her life as far as scandals and achievements and so on. well, it was entertaining. it was also entertaining cuz dave had brought over some vicodin for derek and dan and i. we only had one each, but derek had also hooked us up with black russians. we did have to make the trek to the 3-2 to get some half and half cuz white russians are drinkable. black are not. all in all it was a good time to be had by all, everyone was feeling pretty nice and goofy. i dont smoke at all anymore, it kinda makes me 'panic'. it's a bad thing. so i didn't partake in that but as usual it was all good.
i got dan to call james and tell him a bbq this weekend would be a good idea. we also gave him kristin's # in maine. the funny thing is, somehow that turned into 'kristin needs you to pick her up at the airport at 7am'. dan does not have a grasp on the english language yet, damn french men. i think everything turned out ok though.
we played some DOA2 and just as dan and i started to kick some ass, we were appearantly not playing anymore. we'll get them yet!
i was still tired, despite my nap, and i kept falling asleep. so i went home at about 5:30am. then i got up for work the next day at 9. this is now wednesday.
wednesday i used my HOUR lunch break (30 min unpaid - poo) to take myself to the bank and then subway. 6 inch veggie d on honey oat, mmmm... watched a little tv in the break room. very relaxing break. 6 o'clock i got gas and then went to la taquiza with derek. i hadn't been there in quite a while, so it was cool. enchiladas rancheros and horchata!
i became derek's delivery driver and took him by a bunch of houses to drop off his video. he had compiled this year's films onto vhs. i have one upstairs, but i didn't remember him giving it to me : ) it was cool though cuz we got to visit people on orchard (including s.s. but he is STILL not in slow motion argh), at joe and harry's (television music was recording so we didn't stay for long), and the cinema house.
back at derek's we told dan to come over and hung out in the frontroom. i got to talk to his roommate, a guy from boulder who is here to study projection of film? he is really nice, both derek's roommates i have met are nice. the other has spiderman on his computer and i attempted to watch it (cuz i still haven't) but i kept falling asleep. the third i dont know but he somehow created gnuttella. weird.
after my two hour nap, i woke up to see dan and dave sitting right next to me. very strange. it was time to go.
WE WERE GOING TO SEE STAR WARS EPISODE 2!!! ooh i was excited.
we got to the bridge at howard hughes, just after eleven. the TICKETED line was at least a few blocks long. i never saw the end. we already had tickets from the computer, and on the way to the back we passed asa and the people from cinema house. so we 'melded' into the line. no matter where i go to see movies - burbank, century city, hollywood, huntington beach - i am BOUND to see someone from usc. after the movie we ran into the guy from my beatles class. the one i studied with that had been in a bunch of my psych classes. i figured i wouldn't see him after graduation, he seemed a bit surprised as well.
we went to norm's and i had a sandwich and milkshake. dan sent his french dip back cuz there was no dip and then on the way out he took it out of the garbage tray. he said it was still good. go dan!

I LOVED THAT MOVIE!!!!
star wars star wars ooh sooo exciting. i was sitting up towards the front, cuz even though there were like five screens at this one theater, it was soo packed. it was more exciting up front though cuz i felt like i was right in the action, and the seats were all comfy. we got to see the new matrix trailer, can't wait for THAT to come out!
the beginning scenes kinda reminded me of blade runner, the flying cars and the space age city. even the chase through the club. i don't wanna say too much cuz i dont wanna ruin the movie.
i find both padme and anakin attractive. it was sooo romantic, even more-so than the trilogy. and the costuming was great. everything was soo dreamy. to me the emotions were all really believable and dark and adventurous and dangerous and oohhh...
it was really really amusing also, and they brought back c-3po into more of a main role. MUCH funnier than jar jar.
the fight scenes were really cool, and people always seemed to be flying through the air.
my favorite was the yoda fight scene. he looked like pikachu on n64's smash brothers game. swish swish!!! zing zing! ooh soo exciting!
as tired as i was BEFORE the movie, i was WIDE AWAKE throughout the entire film.
i really didnt' like episode one. i have only seen it once. but i want to see this one again already. and again and again.....

my friend emailed me from omaha on her way to maine. i have never gotten an email from omaha.
ceci bought me lunch at carl's AND let me off work early today, about half an hour early. so i got a jump start on TRAFFIC. it took me 40 min to get home, when i technically live 15 min away. sucky. i can't wait til my summer place is ready for me. : )
derek invited me to 'the best sushi restaurant in LA', where they bring you food and you don't order, you just take what you'd like. but it is expensive and i had a kinda late lunch. so i had to decline and i drove home. now they are going to california roll, and i am too far away to come. hehe. saaaad. i will sit here and eat nuts. and maybe clean my room finally. i have been way too busy. and i'm so tired i may just nap first then clean later.
yeah right.
if you watch trading spaces religiously, you are a big nerd. but you are not the only nerd.
meanwhile, back on the farm....
i miss my sister, but my mom was getting to be a handful. my sister said next time they come i am not supposed to put them on the same plane. haha poor kid.
mike comes back in less than a month. i am still confused. i have a crush on five guys right now, most likely cuz i am trying to distract myself from him. and because if i have a crush on five guys, i can't tell any of them that i like them. cuz that could ruin my chances with the other four. not that i have a chance with any of them. but theoretically speaking. but when it comes down to it i really would drop any of these silly boy ideas for my one special guy. argh. why's he gotta be so sweet?

i've been pretty busy lately, as you may have noticed by my lack of postings...
i haven't slept much in the past week, starting with the night before graduation up until tonight. yeah i have to get up early TOMORROW too, for work. i keep passing out everywhere. i'll get to that though, let me start back at saturday...
saturday i woke up by 11 and wanted to rush everyone to the beach. i had a long night of partying but was excited to get going somewhere. it took us FOREVER cuz my mom is sooo slow and we had a toddler much more intrested in cartoons than the time. so finally i get my mom, sister, and nephew to the car and we take off to santa monica in the blistering southern california heat.
let me remind you, my little black car has NO air conditioning. so when it gets this hot, and i turn on the air, it is warm air like i am sticking clothes in the drier set to 'damp dry'. no pleasant. and just as i'm getting on the freeway, two cars merge improperly and end up STOPPING on the on ramp and i hit one just barely from behind. my mom actually said i did a good job, which is amazing, cuz she used to make me cry when we would practice driving. she is extremely paranoid and a terrible back seat driver. but this was really unavoidable. the funny thing is, like all my accidents, there was basically NO damage to either car, and after i walked up to the car in front, they checked and seemed to be in a big hurry and said it was no problem, it was the other guy's fault. since i was legally at fault, i didn't mind not trading info. this is the second car full of shadey chinese drivers i have gotten into an accident with. i am pretty sure they weren't not insured properly cuz they were off like a prom dress (to use a shane term).
when we got to the area of the beach, everyone decided to avoid the promenade so i found parking where ian and i go for our rollerblading extravaganzas. on the way i picked up drinks for us at the coffee bean on lincoln, and they messed up my size so i got a free one. not to mention i was using a pink card so it WAS a free one. two free drinks! the drinks were good and i got my mom hooked on the bean.
at the beach i kinda sat back mostly and let my mom play w/ my nephew cuz they were having a lot of fun. then they all decided to walk to the pier and i drove my car over to meet them so they wouldn't have to walk back. my nephew went on some rides there and had a blast! afterwards i took us all on a drive towards the old bean that i worked at, and i ran into some old coworkers. one girl is ENGAGED and moving to san diego! she is getting hitched in vegas so i get to come to the real wedding when that happens... hehe. meanwhile my nephew was asleep so by the time we got to swingers to eat, he woke up on the way in. he was not happy and threw a tantrum. eventually he calmed down cuz we got him a smoothie and the food was pretty good. my sister is a vegetarian and i thought that place had the most options for her while still being somewhere i'd wanna eat. mmm goood stuff.
on the way back to my dad's i drove us through hancock park and pointed out all the houses i had dibs on. my nephew insisted on calling them castles. then i took them on the tour de campus and drove up on all the sidewalks to show them my favorite fountain spots and where i skated at night. then back to my dad's. i didn't stay there long cuz my dad is really grouchy w/ me lately. so then i went out to paris' graduation party and had THE MOST FUN in a while. i was there til almost 7am, but i had been asleep for a bit of that. almost all of us fell asleep for part of the night (morning). shelton showed up, and abe and his THREE brothers, dan riley and his siblings (his brother is really cool), garrett, derek, dan, andy, wendy, and big red dave and his bottle of spiced rum. james and i were drinking straight out of the bottle after dave insisted on hiding it from himself. i got the other dave's email and then we exchanged #s so we can keep in touch over the summer. i was dancing and the djs were pretty damn good. even the nate/shane/reggie crew was there. i got so many hugs, it all felt really good and happy. derek woke andy and up just before 7 to take us back to his place to sleep in the empty room at his apartment, after we had pizza.
sunday morning, i woke up at 11am again, and walked all the way back to my car. it was soo hot and on the way this guy named felipe asked me for directions to ellendale. then he asked me for my #. i told him i don't give it out. which i don't since the tyrone who called my phone (over and over and over) incident. then he preceded to tell me his life story and where he was living, etc etc. and then asked again. still didn't budge. i got to my car and drove away into the sunset.
i went to pick up my mom and sister to take them shopping on the promenade and to the beach one more time, a mother's day outing. and one more trip to coffee bean. my dad and his girlfriend were taking my nephew. but their plans fell through and they ended up taking him to the casino so we told them to come meet us at the beach. then we all hung out and i got to play in the sand. and i got to watch this really hot blond guy (perfect body, wavy hair) studying right in front of me. after i watched him strip off his civilian attire.
we then went to javan's, my favorite persian restaurant in the area. we ordered way to much food as usual, and i got my favorite shirin pollo. mmm. then i took my nephew for a walk cuz my mom had snuck him three tootsie rolls before dinner and he was a handful. thanks mom. and cuz she would not stop TALKING. then we went to this cute little persian deli w/ yummy watermelon ice cream mmmm again. : ) my ameh called and said my dad did not call her about my graduation like he said he would. so she was upset at him. poor ameh.
my dad yelled at me again after dinner, back at the house, so i went to help derek move to his new apartment. he has soo much shit. i was really tired too so i fell asleep there just after dan showed up to help with james. and i woke up and there was dave a. i was confused so i went back home, slept for a few more hours, got up and took my family to the airport. as usual they took forever getting ready. but i'm a speedy driver so i got them there just in time. then i went to work at the daycare but i was two hours early so i got myself a honeydew boba slushee at the new tapioca place called boba loca. it was a pretty good price, and a cute little shop. i will return.
i was still an hour early to work so i took a nap, while trying to watch courtroom television with the ladies in the 'faculty lounge'. most babies went home early so that was nice. after work i headed to derek's and WOKE HIM UP at 6:30pm. he has been keeping weird hours. we called dan and then we all three went to see thor and then to in-n-out to get a pre-movie dinner. soo good. then we saw 'hollywood ending', the latest woody allen movie, at century city. i love hanging out with those two. and i actually liked the movie, or i must have cuz i didn't realize it was 2 hours long until i was leaving and checked my phone clock.
if anyone has bakerfield floor tickets for tool, let me know cuz i am looking. and i am definitely intrested in going. : ) yay!
anyhow i gotta get up early for work tomorrow. so i must be going. but i will let you know what is up if i get more time tomorrow : ) night!
