i got a lot of catching up to do. in the meanwhile i will mention what happened to me tonight....
ian took me to this gaybar in we-ho, 'here'. but thursday night is ladies night and they call it 'fuse'. on the way in i was carded. 'doh. anyhow, we went w/ reid, and the music was cool and the interior and the people were a big mishmash of different ages, styles, ethnicities, and so on. but basically all gay. and one of the first people i saw when i got there was the guy i hooked up w/ on my birthday, looking fine as usual. but he is kinda tooo stylish if you know what i mean, and his friend was kinda stylish as well. so i figured he was a regular. and ian and i were like 'ohhh i knew it, those plaid pants...' i was kinda shocked to see him there at any rate. we also so a guy who lived at troy, but i wasn't shocked to see him.
then tiesha came in! big T from the coffeebean! she used to work w/ me and has worked at quite a few shops now, and was living w/ becky for a while. she knew dozens of girls there and introduced me to a bunch. i think i will go back next thurs, i had a great time.
the fratguy from my bday saw me eventually, and came up and asked 'what are YOU doing here?' and i said what are YOU doing here?' and we both kinda smiled and i said 'don't worry your secret is safe w/ me'. and he was like 'nooo i'm here w/ my friend and some girls from ucla, we heard it was ladies night'. suuure. so he was asking me how life was and such. but i was there to meet girls so i was kinda caught offguard by him.
weird.
reid and ian bought me khaluas and creams, and the only bad thing that happened was i must have had a panic attack, cuz i started getting lightheaded (a while after my drinks) and i just wanted to sit down or something, and my vision went kinda weird and i fell into this tunnel in a way, and everything was going black. my ears started ringing and i had to sit down and people were asking me things and i mumbled something about my blood sugar to reassure them i was ok and after a little i felt my hearing come back and tiesha brought me some icy water.
kinda scary. i hope that doesn't ever happen when i'm driving. it doesn't usually last that long, or maybe it seemed like longer than it was.
anyhow, this is when ian got hungry for carl's. and it was pouring down rain, so reid took us in his car to our car, and we headed home. while we were looking for a parking spot here, we saw lightning TWICE! the whole sky was lit up! pouring down rain, all cozy and nice in my room though. : ) i wish i had someone to cuddle w/, tonight would be perfect then!

after i woke up from my friday nap, ebeth and her friend, alex, picked me up for dinner. we went to melissa and liz's house to regroup, where i met all three new girls, plus a guy named james. i was a little worried at first, but they all seemed pretty nice as we sat watching point break (the keanu reeves movie i never before had the fortune to see). anyhow, eventually we went to the outback steakhouse that none of us had been to in arcadia, so it was quite an interesting drive. liz showed us a secret to defrost windows by turning on the heat and a/c at the same time. too bad i dont have a/c in my car.
dinner was a ton of fun, we had the onion blossom and cheese fries BOTH for appetizer, and my entree was the queensland chicken and shrimp. sooo good, on fetuccini alfredo mmm. plus a ton of ice tea and some of ebeth's bday icecream sundae.
back at liz and melissa's, ebeth opened her presents. then we played the new trivial pursuit (82-2002) she had received from james, m and l. it was pretty fun, and we had yellow cake w/ homemade chocolate frosting while we were playing. and some sparkling cider. i felt pretty zoned after all that.
so eventually we ended the game and called liz the winner, and headed out. i hope i get to see them again!
back at campus, ebeth dropped me off at jessica's party. i was very very late, but i did what i had to. hehe. people were calling me from there all night, and when i got there it wasn't much of a party so i didn't understand what the fuss was about. it was ok though, so i chilled w/ ian, rebekah, jon and brad for a bit. it was too late to drink and i felt funky from the food i'd eaten, so i just tried to entertain myself by watching drunk people interact. amanda was there w/ a new pet, who is actually a HS classmate of an old pet. rebekah got lost and ended up 'walking' w/ the guy of her choice. lucky ducky.
saturday i was supposed to go to an open house but i wasn't feeling so great when i woke up, so i went back to sleep. in fact, i didn't do much at all BUT sleep saturday. jake came back at 6ish and woke me up, and we went to see THE STROKES at the greek theater. parking wasn't so bad, and we were there in time to see both openers, ROONEY (and LA band that i was actually kinda into - my thoughts were they were between weezer and the strokes) and MOONIE SUZUKI (the between-song-banter was their best act). the headliners were SOOOO good. and julian casablancas is soooo dreamy for some reason. i've seen pics, which just don't do him justice. maybe it's just his voice... anyhow, he had a bad knee, maybe from crowd surfing the night before? they played four new songs i think, and i loved it all. LOTS of fun. our seats were waaay in the back but for $10 each... not bad.
when we were leaving the concert, i checked all my voice messages. one was from jessica, who wanted to eat the leftovers i'd accidently left in her fridge. good thing i was calling to tell her to eat them cuz she ATE THEM before i called! haha.
one was from sandy telling me to find out when my dad's flight was coming in sunday, and asking me to come to lax w/ her.
one was from THE BEAR GUY! the guy who asked for my # last saturday! i was all giddy and excited from the concert already, and this just doubled it. jake and i stopped off at palermo's on the way back from griffith park, and after i ordered my chicken picata and lentil soup, i went in the hall to call the bear back. after i told him what was up, he told me to call when i got back in the area.
during dinner, i made all three of our waiters laugh a whole lot.
i was just out of control.
but the food was GREAT, and we ate sooo much.
back at home, i called my aim friend. the one i have never met but he sees me at all these parties and then tells me about it when he is back on aim. he was at the apts nextdoor but said it wasn't a cool party, so he told me i didn't need to come over there. but later he imed me and said i sounded nice on the phone. what a strange situation!
then i gave the bear a call and then caught a cruiser to chez ronee. he introduced me to a few of his friends (all pretty cool) and we hung out at some water polo party. for some reason, his FRIEND was pretty intent on talking to me, and kept putting his arm around me. not that this guy was bad looking at all, but i was kinda there to see the bear. so eventually i left w/ the bear and his other friend in a cruiser, and when we went by my house, he got out w/ me to hang and talk.
but nothing happened.
i am not sure why. and he is going to the weekender so who knows if we will hang out anytime soon. he does make me smile, the whole crew of guys was pretty funny. funny funny.
today i woke up pretty late. i have been sleeping a lot lately. i chatted w/ parker for a while and got some advice on stuff, and then came to see sandy and my dad (and do a boatload of laundry).
i am still here doing laundry. waiting for my dad to wake up so i can go eat. i'm HUNGRY. i haven't eaten anything but nuts and fruits today.
my dad brought my sister and a beautiful hand-embroidered rug from iran, as well as a silver necklace w/ a pearshaped pendant laced w/ diamonds, and matching earrings. also, he got me a beautiful silver swatch w/ a pink face, from the amsterdam airport, but i need to get the band sized down and i dont know how, so i will have to take it to the mall i guess (oh no not the mall again!). plus a bunch of chocolates (lindt, etc).
i guess i lost weight again, and my dad is worried. but i don't think i am underweight by any means so it shouldn't be a problem. he did like my hair, cuz it still has a few braids from halloween (i am lazy).
i have two midterms this week and i'm studying for one. kinda.
hopefully later i will have something interesting to say.
